The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently appointed Sherry Tross ’92 as the federation’s Higher Commissioner to Canada. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis announced her promotion in a press release.

Michael Scott ’81 recently opened an exhibition of his artwork in Geneva’s Xippas Gallery. A set of works produced between 1980 and 2016, Scott’s exhibit manifests the New York contemporary art scene.

Herb Hand ’90 recently joined the University of Texas football coaching staff as their new co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Former Hamilton College football star Hand, a Westmoreland, N.Y. native and a veteran offensive line coach, has helped coordinate numerous dynamic offenses in his 27 years of coaching.

Maurice “Mo” Owen-Michaane was recently appointed to Pelham Manor’s Zoning Board of Appeals. The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews all uses of lands and buildings (residential and commercial) within the Village of Pelham Manor that do not conform to the existing zoning code.

Yance Ford ’94 made Oscars history as the first openly transgender filmmaker nominated for an Academy Award. His film, “Strong Island” was nominated for Best Documentary Feature.

Joe Lewis ’75 is performing at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. The performance, Three Black Bungalows reunites Joe Lewis, Marion Cowings, and David Wells in songs of love, resistance, and poverty. The show is free and open to the public.

Haley Peltz ’12 performed at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, Mass., on Jan. 12. Accompanied by local jazz musicians Dan Fox (bass), Joe Reid (piano), and Miki Matsuki (drums), Peltz built the show around songs by female composers.

Roger Paas ’67 recently completed his multi-volume edition “The German Political Broadsheet, 1600-1700” with the release of Volume 14 (index volume). Published by Harrassowitz Verlag in Wiesbaden, Germany, Paas’ work reproduces over 5,000 broadsheets (early newspapers) produced during the European warfare of the 17th century.
