Getting a week-long, behind-the-scenes look at a medical career, five Hamilton students shadowed doctors in different stages of their three-year residencies at a hospital near campus.

Forty-four members of the Class of 2023 and 10 transfer students arrived on a cold but sunny campus on Jan. 17 to officially begin their Hamilton experience and take part in new student orientation. The College offers January admission to roughly 45 students each year to fill vacancies created by students on leave and studying abroad.

Five Hamilton juniors have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships for study abroad during the spring 2020 semester. Recipients are Erin Bryant, Diamond Jackson, Savannah Kelly, Lynn Kim, and Maya Taliaferro.

Yuri Choi ’21 is the first Hamilton College recipient of a Fund For Education Abroad scholarship. She will study gender and sexuality in the Netherlands, known for its progressive laws and policies.
