Members of Hamilton’s Class of 2022 walked off the Commencement stage, canes in hand, and out into the world ready to make a difference and take the lead on global issues and needs.

In their final days as Hamilton students, more than 200 members of the Class of 2022 planted nearly 500 trees in an effort to combat climate change and help the College achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

They began with one boat. Nearly four decades later, Hamilton’s nationally recognized varsity rowing program now has a place to call its own.

Nearly 140 Hamilton student-athletes dedicated more than 400 hours to local organizations on Saturday, April 9, as part of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Day of Service.

Hamilton is taking a major step toward addressing climate change by setting a new goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2030, 20 years earlier than its initial target of 2050.

When Wyn Pennybacker '19 was evacuated from Ukraine to Poland by her Fulbright program because of the Russia-Ukraine war, she continued to engage the students she had been teaching and took every opportunity to volunteer locally to help Ukrainian refugees.
