Lisa Forrest, director of research and instructional design, was a featured poet for the Burchfield Penney Art Center’s 2016 Writers & Poets Series on Oct. 9.

Tracy Adler, director of the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art, led an interview with photographer and artist Paul Clemence at the opening of Architecture Biennale 2016 in Venice, Italy, on May 28. She and Clemence were also members of a panel on “Living Timeline: Experience Creators in Art & Architecture.”

Christian Goodwillie, director and curator of Special Collections and Archives in Burke Library, recently published “Baseball, Beards, Bands, and the Babes: Michigan’s House of David Religious Community” in Ephemera Journal, the quarterly publication of the Ephemera Society of America.

“Field-scale habitat complexity enhances avian conservation and avian-mediated pest-control services in an intensive agricultural crop,” an article co-authored by Supervisor of Introductory Laboratories Jason Townsend, was recently published in the journal Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment.

Associate Vice President for Facilities and Planning Steve Bellona received the 2016 Decade of Excellence award, given by the Mohawk Valley Engineers Executive Council (MVEEC). The award was presented April 28 at the 66th Annual Mohawk Valley Technical Awards Banquet, held at The Beeches in Rome, N.Y.

Lisa Forrest, director of research and instructional design, presented “Partners in Teaching and Learning: Peer Research Tutors at the Desk, in the Classroom, and Across Campus” on March 4 at the Western New York Library Resources Council (WNYLRC) conference.

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Patrick Reynolds was recognized for his service to the American Microscopical Society (AMS) at the society’s annual meeting in Portland, Ore. He was awarded honorary life membership for his 17 years of service to the executive committee.
