  • David Dammerman ’91 swam the English Channel this past September. He started from Samphire Hoe, England at 2 a.m. on September 25 and 27 miles and about ten and a half hours later he reached dry land in Cap Gris Nez, France. While on the Men’s Swimming and Diving Team at Hamilton Dammerman said he never would have imagined swimming the English Channel. After a friend volunteered to be his support crew, David started training for a little over two years with the Channel in mind.

  • Hamilton College has received $1.6 million from the estate of renowned New York State historian and Hamilton alumnus David Ellis and his wife Carolyn, which will support an endowed chair in their name.

  • Hamilton alumnus Luvuyo Mandela ’09 returned to the Hill on Oct. 29 to speak about his work as a social entrepreneur in South Africa. His former philosophy professor, A. Todd Franklin, introduced Mandela and thanked him for agreeing to speak to the small gathering, heavily composed of students in Franklin’s “Philosophy of Race, Gender and Culture” course.

  • Hamilton College alumnus Eric Feldman proudly announces plans to open Braven Brewing Company, a microbrewery in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Teaming up with co-founder Marshall S. Thompson, a seasoned entrepreneur who earned his MBA from Fordham University, Eric hopes to make Braven the first brewery in the neighborhood in over 30 years.
