Rain and chilly weather didn’t dampen the spirits of nearly 1200 alumni and their guests at Reunions ’13, June 6-9. Class dinners, alumni colleges, the annual meeting of the Alumni Association, a cross-country run, jazz and a dance party kept alumni busy as they dodged raindrops.

The College Board of Trustees has unanimously elected Stephen I. Sadove ’73 to be its next chair, effective July 1. He will replace A.G. Lafley ’69, who has served as chair of the Board of Trustees since 2008. George F. (Jeff) Little II ’71 will continue as the board’s vice chair.

Publius Virgilius Rogers Professor of American History Maurice Isserman and his former student and CBS News Associate Producer Walter Cronkite IV ’11 presented their new book, Cronkite's War: His World War II Letters Home, to a full house at the National Press Club (NPC) in Washington, D.C., on June 4. Proceeds from the event benefited the National Press Club Journalism Institute.

Publius Virgilius Rogers Professor of American History Maurice Isserman and his former student Walter Cronkite IV ’11 discussed their new book Cronkite's War: His World War II Letters Home during an hour-long interview on public radio station WOSU’s All Sides with Ann Fisher on May 28. WOSU is based in Columbus, Ohio. The segment was titled “The Way It Is: Life and Times of Walter Cronkite.”

A.G. Lafley, a 1969 graduate of Hamilton College, has rejoined Procter & Gamble as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. He will also serve the world’s largest household goods manufacturer as chairman of its board of directors. Lafley, who majored in French and history at Hamilton, was P&G’s president and CEO from 2000 to 2009.

New York Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R-122nd District) visited Hamilton College on May 16. He responded to an invitation made during New York Student Aid Alliance Advocacy Day in February in Albany, N.Y., when a group of Hamilton students visited the state capital. Director of Opportunity Programs Phyllis Breland ’80 said, “He took the time to show that he cared about the experiences and opinions of our Opportunity Program students.”
