  • The sixth Entrepreneurship Workshop and Pitch Competition for current students and Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) took place from April 8-10. Nile Berry ’14 won first place pitching his Brooklyn-based company, Marvel Vision, a creative content studio which uses drone technology to produce aerial analytics.

  • John D. Nichols ’66 returned to Hamilton on April 6 to talk about his public digital humanities project, the Ojibwe People’s Dictionary.

  • John D. Nichols ’66, professor emeritus at the University of Minnesota, will present a lecture titled “The Ojibwe People’s Dictionary: A Public Digital Humanities Project for An Indigenous Language” on Wednesday, April 6, at 4:10 p.m., in the Red Pit. The lecture is free and open to the public.

  • Sam Matlick’s first place win in the college’s fourth annual pitch competition in October 2013 was impressive, but it pales when compared with his first place finish in the Salt City Shark Tank, the YPO/WPO (Young Presidents Organization/World Presidents Organization) state-wide competition.

  • DK Lee ’17 presented at the 2016 Annual Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP) Conference in Providence, R.I., on March 23. The projects presented were developed throughout Lee’s year-long Instructional Technology Apprenticeship Program (ITAP) with Educational Technologist Benjamin Salzman ’14.

  • With graduation approaching, it may seem unusual that two senior economics majors have organized a trip to New York City for underclass students to meet with alumni executives at various financial institutions. Ramon Villalona and Rashveena Rajaram, co-presidents of Hamilton’s Finance Club, plan to expand their classmates’ vision of their career options  and assist them in making contacts  during this day-long event. 

  • Hamilton’s Levitt Leadership Institute (LLI) students spent their first week of spring break discovering how to be passionate, flexible and persistent in Washington, D.C. As organizers and participants in sessions with both governmental and non-profit organization leaders, they had the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired leadership skills.

  • David Dacres ’18, Erin Lewis ’18, Rich Wenner ’17 and Pat Marris ’16 presented the results of their research at the 251st American Chemical Society (ACS) National Meeting and Exposition held March 12-17 in San Diego.

  • Hamilton’s choir had a special guest when they performed in St. Paul on their spring tour last week. Hamilton President-elect David Wippman attended the performance. Wippman is currently dean of the University of Minnesota Law School and will become president of Hamilton on July 1.  

  • The Hamilton College Arboretum Third Saturday series continues on Saturday, March 19, with professional landscape designer and garden writer Judy Nauseef K’73. She will present a lecture titled “Residential Garden Profiles” at 10 a.m. in the Kennedy Auditorium, Taylor Science Center.
