  • NYC Program students spent a recent morning with Hamilton alumnus Bob Kinkel ’79 at Spin Recording Studios, a 4,000 square foot, world-class audio recording  studio in Long Island City.  Kinkel is a professional keyboardist and music engineer best known for his role as a co-creator/co-producer/co-composer and touring keyboardist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

  • The Hamilton College Academic Year (or semester) in Spain began its spring semester in Madrid by traveling to Andalusia in southern Spain. Over five days, HCAYS students from Hamilton, Colby, Scripps, Swarthmore and Williams visited Seville, Granada and Córdoba. The group enjoyed the history, the gastronomy and flamenco music of one of Spain’s most fascinating and evocative regions.

  • In keeping with this winter’s weather pattern of snow/no snow, the 2013 FebFest theme was “Meltdown.” The annual winter tradition took place Feb. 9-16 with events that included a CAB Acoustic Coffeehouse featuring Josh Ritter, CAB Comedy with Michael Ian Black, the 20th annual Chili Cookoff and the popular Mr. Hamilton contest.

  • Seventeen Hamilton science majors and two faculty members served as judges at the Clinton Middle School Science Fair on Feb. 9.  More than 180 projects were judged. Professor of Physics Gordon Jones and Professor of Biology Herm Lehman were faculty judges.

  • Students in Hamilton’s Program in New York City shared dinner and conversation with photographer Kathryn Parker Almanas. Almanas spoke with the students about her life as an artist.

  • After a semi-formal dinner at Gabriel's Restaurant, a few of Hamilton's Program in New York City students stopped to pose in front of the fountain at Lincoln Center before enjoying an all-Beethoven program with Christoph von Dohnanyi conducting the New York Philharmonic in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.

  • Nine Hamilton students traveled to Montreal January 24-27 to participate in the 24th annual McGill University Model United Nations Conference (McMUN).

  • After a historic top-24 national championship finish in the 2012 season, Hamilton’s mock trial team has managed yet another impressive feat by taking home first place at the Cornell University Big Red Invitational Tournament.

  • Students on the Hamilton Junior Year in France program escaped the four inches of snow that fell on Paris during the weekend of January 19-20 to travel to Provence.

  • More than 80 students volunteered at non-profit agencies in the local community on Saturday, Jan. 26, for Hamilton’s 15th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day. Hamilton Association for Volunteering, Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) sent groups of students to 19 different sites to spend the afternoon working on various projects.
