  • Spencer Finch '85 recently installed Lunar (2011) in the open-air Bluhm Family Terrace on top of the Art Institute of Chicago's Modern Wing.  Lunar is a solar-powered, buckyball-shaped sculpture that glows at night the same color and brightness as the full moon over Chicago as Finch recorded it in July this year. Finch's artwork often utilizes color and light, and a colorimeter, a device that measures the absorbance of wavelengths of light, is one of his primary tools.

The five panelists of the Careers in Entrepreneurship event on Thursday, Sept. 22, epitomize careers based on a balance of passion and smart decision-making. These alumni shared their experiences and advice in a panel discussion sponsored by the Career Center.

  • David Greene '85 has been named executive vice president of the University of Chicago. He previously served as the vice president for strategic initiatives, a position he held since 2006. As executive vice president, Greene oversees the University's planning, priority setting, and initiatives that cross a number of institutional areas.

  • Scott Sipprelle '85 recently announced his candidacy for a seat in Congress, serving New Jersey's 12th District. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College, with a concentration in economics and a minor in government and was the recipient of the Clark Prize in Public Speaking. He is married to Tracy '85 and their daughter Jessica is class of 2012.
