Lisbeth “Liz” DaBramo and Erika Marte, both candidates for May graduation from Hamilton, will travel the world as Thomas J. Watson Fellows for 2015-16. DaBramo’s project is titled “Water Ways: An Exploration of Water Sustainability Strategies,” and Marte’s is “The Faces and Functions of Educational Volunteerism in the 21st Century.”

Melanie Miller, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Turkey. A psychology major at Hamilton, she studied abroad in Durban, South Africa in 2014. According to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Hamilton was a top producer of U.S. Fulbright students in 2014-15.

Matthew Palmer’16 and Evelyn Torsher ’17 have been awarded the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS). Palmer will study Chinese in China and Torsher will study Arabic in Jordan, Oman or Morocco.

Isabella Schoning ’16 has been chosen as a recipient of the Gilman International Scholarship Program award. The award will fund Schoning’s fall 2014 semester abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia, through the Bard-Smolny Program.

Meredith Nuber ’14 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Germany, where she will teach English. A German studies and world politics major at Hamilton, she studied at Ludwig Maximilians University in Germany in 2013, and at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012.

Robert Hayden ’14 has been awarded a research/study Fulbright Grant to Copenhagen, Denmark. He will spend the 2014-15 academic year studying epidemiology and the development of medicines, and apply that coursework to biomedical research with the Copenhagen Hepatitis C (CO-HEP) Program group under the direction of Professor Jens Bukh. Hayden is a biochemistry and molecular biology major at Hamilton.

Alex Rudow, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Taiwan. A world politics major at Hamilton, she studied abroad at Sciences Po Bordeaux in France in 2013.

Sarah Mehrotra, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Malaysia. A neuroscience major at Hamilton, she studied abroad at Charles University in the Czech Republic in 2013.
