  • Pat Dunn ’12, a candidate for May graduation, has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Malaysia. He is an environmental studies and creative writing major at Hamilton.

  • Laura Gilson ’12, a candidate for May graduation, has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Indonesia.  A Dean’s List student, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in February.  Gilson is an English literature major and art history minor at Hamilton.

  • Hillary “Kip” Langat ’13 has been awarded a Davis Peace Project Fellowship program grant of $10,000.  Through his project titled “Pulling Villages out of Poverty with a Community Tractor in Kenya,” Langat will help to empower people in three Kenyan villages by purchasing a community farming tractor and training them in farming techniques in an effort to break the cycle of poverty.

  • Spencer Gulbronson, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship for 2012-13. Her project, titled “The Universal Language: Exploring Creative Approaches to Math Education,” was among 40 national winners of the Fellowships.

  • Victoria (Tori) Morrow ’14 has been awarded a summer fellowship at the University of Michigan to do work in classics and medieval studies through the university’s Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP).  The SROP brings talented underrepresented students to Ann Arbor to work with faculty mentors on research projects during two months in the summer. Morrow is a classics major.

  • Nicholas Perry ’11 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Malaysia. Perry is a world politics and Russian studies major.

  • Alexander Benkhart ’11 has been awarded a Fulbright Grant to Japan. He will spend the 2011-12 academic year studying depictions of homosexuality in Japanese popular culture, and the relationship between the concepts expressed in popular culture and the identity politics of the Japanese gay rights movement. As an integral part of his research, he will continue to engage in intensive language study to familiarize himself with the vocabulary and methods of expressing and describing sexuality in the Japanese language.

  • Erica Kowsz, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright Grant to Vancouver, British Columbia,  Canada. She will spend the 2011-12 academic year conducting fieldwork among the Sinixt First Nation in the Slocan Valley. Kowsz will produce an ethnographic film exploring the connections between indigenous conceptions of past, place and identity and how these understandings relate to archaeology.

  • Rem Van Aiken Myers, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Indonesia.
