The expertise of Hamilton’s Enrollment Management staff was showcased recently in higher education outlets, with Monica Inzer, vice president for enrollment emerita, and Executive Director for Financial Aid Janice Scheutzow sharing their knowledge and experience on topics relevant to today’s college applicants.

Hamilton honored employees for exceptional service and milestone anniversaries at the 40th Employee Service Recognition luncheon on May 13. President David Wippman announced winners of the Beverly S. and Eugene M. Tobin Employee Awards, and the recipient of the Wertimer-Couper Award.

For many Hamilton students, Tessa Chefalo is one of the first faces they see when they arrive on campus for orientation. As assistant dean of students, a large part of her role involves overseeing the major transition that first-year students undergo as they begin their studies. Chefalo has been working with orientation and new students since she arrived at Hamilton 10 years ago, and this year her dedication, creativity, and innovation were rewarded when she received the Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate Award from the National Resource Center for First-Year Students and Students in Transition.

Director of Learning and Research Services Nhora Serrano recently discussed “Depicting Mexico and Modernism: Gordo by Gus Arriola,” an exhibition she curated at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum.

Barbara Baldwin Graves Starnes P’80, GP’11, a Hamilton friend and former employee with lifelong ties to the College, died on Feb. 10 at the age of 90.

Hamilton College was well represented among presenters at the recent New York State Health Association (NYSCHA) New England College Health Association (NECHA) 2023 Combined Annual Meeting in Albany. Six employees from the College, including five administrators and a faculty member, presented and co-presented six sessions across the three-day event.
