  • Nothing could have prepared Vince Sorrentino ’20 for what it was like to work in a hospital: grumpy patients, serious wound care, and lots of bodily fluids. It was an up close and personal look at hospital work for a student on the job—one of seven Hamilton students participating in a summer program with SUNY Upstate Medical University.

  • Summer is here, and that can only mean one thing: camp. But this summer camp has nothing to do with lanyards or kayaking—it’s about code. This summer, Conor Courtney ’20 is attending Horizons School of Technology in San Francisco, Calif.

  • Sarah Kane ‘19 spent the spring semester in Bristol, England, in a behavioral biology program studying animal welfare and the laws that surround wild animals, and clinical animal behavior focusing on cats and dogs. Kane also wrote a dissertation with Dr. Nicola Rooney on the accuracy, or specificity and sensitivity of diabetic alert dogs.

  • Nick Pace '19 is interning at New York Restoration Project, a land conservancy agency in NYC that oversees 80 acres of parkland and 52 community gardens in all five boroughs.

  • Eddie Brennan '19, an Hispanic studies major, is the "influencer talent management intern" at the Los Angeles-based Digital Brand Architects, which manages a roster of leaders in the social space.

  • David Gagnidze ’20 returned to his country of birth to work at the Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development (CIPDD) in Tbilisi. The nonprofit hosts workshops with the local youth, assesses the economic problems of regional communities and studies religious and ethnic minorities in Georgia.

  • Sociology major Vincent Tran ’18 is heading into the financial industry after graduation. He acknowledges his journey to the financial sector as a bit surprising.

  • With the semester coming to a close and students searching for career advice before the summer, those interested in finance and consulting had the opportunity to attend a “Foundations in Banking” panel hosted by the Career Center on April 16.

  • Rather than spend the first week of spring break basking in the sun on a beach, four pre-health Hamilton students elected to shadow family medicine program residents at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, N.Y.

  • A group of Hamilton seniors gathered in KJ 201 on Sept. 14 to discuss their respective internship experiences as part of the “What I Did This Summer” Communications Panel. Each member of the five-person group came upon his or her internship through a different means, and all had useful and pointed perspectives to share on the process of finding summer work. A pair of moderators led an informal Q&A session with the panelists, who took audience questions at the end.
