The 8th Annual AIDS Hike for Life will take place at Hamilton College on Sunday, April 30. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the 5K walk begins at 11 a.m. The AIDS Hike for Life is a walk/fun run committed to raising funds that provide direct care to families and individuals living with AIDS, and help support AIDS Community Resources' (ACR) Teen AIDS Task Force prevention program in area high schools.

Currently in Upstate New York more than 28,768 people have been diagnosed with AIDS. Many do not have the resources they need to survive. ACR wants to make sure that people living with HIV or AIDS have the basic things they need (like food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education) to enable them to live out their lives with dignity.

AIDS Hike for Life has raised more than $203,000 in the past 7 years. It has become the most significant fundraiser for AIDS in Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, and Madison Counties. The money raised to date has helped ensure the basic needs of people living with HIV/AIDS will be provided.

Organizers expect in excess of 600 walkers, runners and supporters and have a fundraising goal of $50,000.
