Forty-five new members of the Class of 2026 officially joined the Hamily on Jan. 14. Orientation leaders provided a warm welcome to the January admits as they checked in, moved into their residence hall homes, and got right to it.

In their first days, they had orientation group meetings and a welcome luncheon with President David Wippman, Dean of Faculty Ngoni Munemo, Vice President for Enrollment Management Monica Inzer, and Dean of Students Chris Card. They signed the College register at matriculation in Buttrick Hall and learned about Hamilton’s Honor Code.

Of course, there was some time for fun and games too, with Jans participating in a campus scavenger hunt, Trivia Night, bingo, and a mixer.

During the fall semester, the Jans kept busy. Many took part in the Hamilton Freshman Semester in London in partnership with Arcadia University, two did research with the School for Field Studies, several worked or held internships, and a few took local classes.

Spring semester classes for all students begin on Jan. 18.

Shortly after welcoming in the new year, Hamilton also welcomed 45 new students to the Hill — the College’s class of January admits. Commonly referred to as “Jans,” these students begin their Hamilton residential careers during the spring semester after spending the fall off campus.
