Hamilton Microfinance hosted a bake sale and raised $836 at the 20th Sacerdote Great Names Lecture featuring astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson on April 12. Every year, the Great Names event attracts thousands of students, staff and community members.
As an organization focused on giving back to the local community, the Microfinance group saw this as an ideal opportunity to organize its first ever bake sale fundraiser.
With 100% of the proceeds going toward issuing small business loans to local businesses, everyone could feel good about enjoying a treat before or during Neil deGrasse Tyson’s lecture.
Hamilton Microfinance is extremely grateful for the support of many who made the fundraiser a success. The group would like to especially thank Utica Coffee for their generous donation of coffee beans and cups. The group was excited to collaborate with a local entrepreneur. Microfinance also thanks Bon Appétit Catering for its help brewing the coffee and donation of coffee supplies.
