HAVOC organizers Kat Roberts '22 and Abby LaCasse '23 wrap holiday gift donations.

Hamilton students got into the holiday spirit of giving through several campus initiatives.

HAVOC (Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity) sponsored its annual mitten tree where participants each volunteered to fulfill a gift request from a needy child. “We donated 55 gifts to Upstate Cerebral Palsy and Johnson Park Center, and, all the children got gifts from students at Hamilton,” said co-director Abby LaCasse ’23.

COOP’s annual holiday giving drive solicited gifts this year for the House of the Good Shepherd and the Siegenthaler Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. Requests for sheets, towels, toddler clothing, baby toys, and LED screen clocks were provided.

“Our community has always been so generous, and every year the resounding response we receive reminds me of how grateful I am to be on this campus,” said COOP Director Amy James.

In addition, Student Assembly sponsored a warm clothing drive and encouraged students to bring back jackets, gloves, hats/beanies, socks, and boots when they returned from Thanksgiving break. The Morrow Warming Center at the Cornerstone Community Church benefited from the students’ donations.
