Tessa Chefalo, assistant dean of students for student engagement, recently participated in a Chronicle of Higher Education virtual forum on “The Student-Success Journey: Helping Students Overcome Loneliness.” The panel was convened to address an often-overlooked factor in student success.
Chefalo, along with colleagues working in various student services roles at universities on the East Coast and as far away as Colorado, discussed “ways that institutions can set up students for success by exploring the growing epidemic of loneliness, how it impacts students, and how colleges are helping students overcome feelings of isolation.”
Alex Kafka, senior editor of The Chronicle of Higher Education, hosted the forum.
