Martine Kalaw ’03 recently completed her memoir titled Woman Without An Identity. The memoir is about her father, who she thought was dead, finding her through LinkedIn after Kalaw spent 13 years as an undocumented immigrant orphan and seven years in deportation.
Kalaw’s memoir, centered around the reconnection with her father, discusses Kalaw’s path to self-discovery, her family history, immigration story, and the return to her birth-land of Zambia.

Kalaw is a community advocate based out of Washington, D.C., a speaker, writer and Huffington Post contributor on her undocumented immigrant struggle in America. She has over seven years of work experience running learning/training & development for Fortune 500 companies and start-ups on a global scale.
After Hamilton, Kalaw received her master’s degree in public administration with a focus on immigration policy from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
