The Hamilton College men's soccer coaching staff visited Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse to deliver some gifts before Christmas.
Head coach Perry Nizzi and assistant coach Brendan Ujvary joined Go4theGoal Foundation athletic coordinator Nick Kelleher to deliver gifts to families with the funds that were raised in conjunction with the Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer men's soccer game against Bates College on Sept. 9.
Following the hospital visit, Nizzi and Ujvary were able to visit with a child battling cancer and her family at their home in Rome, N.Y.
The men's soccer team raised more than $15,000 — the largest amount raised by a single group for Go4theGoal.
The mission of the Go4theGoal Foundation is to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research and granting personal wishes. Through their first-hand experience with pediatric cancer and their medical background, Go4theGoal provides the best practices to patients, their families and the hospitals and staff that care for them.
