Hamilton College tied for sixth place in the 13-team St. Lawrence University Invitational, which was played at St. Lawrence Golf Course on Sept. 12 and 13.
Hamilton and Middlebury College finished with a team score of 622 strokes. Waterloo (Canada) claimed the team title with a two-day total of 593. St. John Fisher College was runner-up at 598. The course had a par of 72 and measured 6,673 yards.
The Continentals' four-man total on Saturday was 318. Brad Roche '11 was the only Hamilton golfer that broke 80 with a 78. Phil Preiss '10, Scott Blosser '12 and Hans Schulte '13 all carded 80.
The Continentals improved their team score by 14 shots on Sunday with a 304. Preiss fired a 1-over 73 and tied for 15th place for the tournament at 153. Roche shot 76 and was another shot back at 154. Blosser chipped in a 77, while Schulte and Will Kresock '11 added 78s.
The medalist from Waterloo came in with a 143, which was 1-under par for the tournament. Hamilton competes in the Williams College Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 and 20.
