New York is a city known for certain things, but it is especially known for Broadway theatre. Talented people from all over the country come to New York in hopes of becoming part of the magic.  Few are lucky enough to actually make it.

From my experience in the city so far, I agree that New York theatre is something that everyone must experience.  So far, I have seen two Broadway shows: Movin Out and The Producers.  Both shows were excellent.  Movin Out is a dance production set to the songs of Billy Joel that follows the lives of five friends during the 1960s and 1970s.

The Producers, which is one of the most popular shows on Broadway right now, was the best show that I have ever seen.  Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick really put themselves into the roles and do an excellent job.  The plot is about two men who are producing a play and trying to make it as bad as possible.   However, the show turns out to be a success and the producers are not quite sure what to do.  It's absolutely hilarious.  What I liked best about the play was when Nathan and Matthew would accidentally forget their lines and would laugh and make something up.  It only happened once or twice, but I thought it was funny.   It really made the show.

Broadway, however, is not cheap.   I feel like a New Yorker because I have finally learned the way to get cheap rush tickets.  The seats are not always the best, but for the cheaper price, it is definitely worth the sacrifice.
