Jesse Weiner

Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics Jesse Weiner presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) on Nov. 10 at Chaminade University of Honolulu.

In his paper, “Ixion and the Problem of Guilt in T. S. Eliot’s The Family Reunion,” Weiner argued that a subtle pattern of allusion to the mythological figure of Ixion is essential to The Family Reunion’s character construction and helps explain the play’s mystifying mode of guilt-transmission.

Weiner also chaired a comparative literature and classics panel focused on relations between ancient and modern drama and music.
