 Seth Schermerhorn

Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Seth Schermerhorn recently spoke to students enrolled in a course on “Academic Writings about Tohono O’odham” at Arizona’s Tohono O’odham Community College.

Schermerhorn discussed his articles on O’odham pilgrimages to Magdalena published last year in the Journal of the Southwest and Material Religion.

He was invited by Ken Madsen, a border geographer at the Ohio State University, and Ron Geronimo, a linguist at Tohono O’odham Community College.

Schermerhorn also presented results of his research on O’odham pilgrimages to Magdalena at the Tohono O’odham Nation’s Cultural Center and Museum in Topawa, Ariz. His talk was part of the “Himdag Ki: Author Series” organized by Jeannette Garcia, the center’s archivist.
