How College Works, co-authored by Daniel Chambliss, the Eugene M. Tobin Distinguished Professor of Sociology, and Christopher Takacs ’05, was recently released in paperback by Harvard University Press (HUP).
Originally published in 2014, the book resulted from the authors’ 10-year study of factors that shape the college experience. A key finding, as described by HUP, is that “improving higher education means focusing on the quality of a student’s relationships with mentors and classmates, for when students form the right bonds, they make the most of their education.”
