Welcome to the new Around the Hill. Here you'll find all of the news and information previously included in the biweekly e-mail newsletter and a few things more!
The new format of Around the Hill is a response to recommendations in the Middle States Report and Hamilton's Strategic Plan that we take a closer look at how we communicate with each other. After all, Hamilton employees are a diverse group. We work in dozens of fields and in different corners of campus, making it difficult both to get to know and to keep in touch with each other as much as we might like. The goal of Around the Hill is to help bring us together by focusing on areas of common interest. Each edition will serve as a reminder that the College's successes are solidly tied to the accomplishments and activities of all employees ā faculty, administration, M&O and staff members. The news and viewpoints of all employees will be highlighted in an ongoing effort to stimulate ongoing communication and interaction.
A new edition of Around the Hill will be published online on the first of each month (paper copies will be made available to those without Web access). To make it a success, we need your help. Feature stories planned for the upcoming months include profiles of employees with unusual hobbies, a poll of your favorite day or weekend get-away trips, different ways you celebrate the holiday season with food, (including those secret family recipes!) and advice from employees who are "experts" on various subjects.
If you have a story idea, wish to share a professional or community achievement (your own or one of a co-worker) or have any other suggestions for Around the Hill, e-mail us at ath@hamilton.edu.
