Construction projects on the Hamilton campus this summer will include the renovation of Kirkland Residence Hall, additions to the athletic facilities, and the renovation of the Glen House and Sigma Phi house to serve as new offices.

Kirkland Residence Hall will be fully renovated over the summer, and the project will include the construction of new student rooms in what has been the fourth floor dance loft. This summer will bring new additions to the College's athletic facilities with the completion of construction on the new Fitness Center in August and the squash courts in late September. The former Saunders Chemistry Building is being renovated into the new Fitness Center, which will include more student exercise equipment, the relocated dance studio, and a rock climbing wall. It will be connected with the existing athletic facilities via an underground tunnel. The construction of the squash court extension, off of the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House, will also be completed this summer. Other work on the athletic facilities will include the resurfacing of the tennis courts, painting in the Sage Rink, and the extension of the Martin's Way brick pathway past the athletic buildings to the science building circle.

Other projects this summer will include completing the renovation of the Glen House to serve as new offices and storage space for the College's outdoor programs in July. Renovations will also begin on the Sigma Phi fraternity house, which will be completed in May 2007 and will serve as the new home of the Office of Admission and Financial Aid. New faculty, staff and visitor parking lots will also be built on the north side of campus, next to the turf field and the Sigma Phi house.

Many other smaller construction, renovation and repair projects will also be going on this summer. For more information on all the summer construction projects, including maps, visit the Physical Plant Web site.
