Before finding any pizza, we walked around the village and ended up in Washington Square Park. I found this area very exciting. It was a beautiful day and there was a myriad of people walking around. There was a crowd of people in the middle of the park watching a street performer doing a routine with some sort of sticks that were on fire at the ends. At the other end of the park, there was a "dog pen," where people would let their little dogs run around and play with each other.
We ended up at John's Pizza on Bleeker Street. There is usually a long line of people waiting for a table, but we were lucky to sit right down. We shared a delicious cheese pizza, one of the best I have had.
Dessert was obviously next. It just so happened that right next door was a homemade gelato ice cream shop, called Cones. I could not resist and ordered a raspberry sorbet cone. It was very fruity! With so many flavors to choose from, including grapefruit and passion fruit sorbet, I will have to make a return visit.
