The Theatre Department presents William Shakespeare’s Hamlet for its Spring Main Stage production. Directed by Mark Cryer, Hamlet has all the elements of a great drama: courtly intrigue, murder, revenge, family betrayal, and forbidden seduction.

Performances will run Friday, April 13, through Saturday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, April 18 through Saturday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. There are two matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, and Saturday, April 21. All performances will take place in the Romano Theatre in the Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts.

In Hamlet, the prince of Denmark returns home to find his father dead and his mother already remarried. As the dead king calls for revenge from beyond the grave, Hamlet vows revenge but must conquer his own indecision.

Of the Hamilton production, Cryer said “the plethora of moral questions this play raises, including complex questions of mortality, of right and wrong, justice, revenge, of conscience and duty, all required the company to question daily in rehearsal what these themes mean and how they shape the story of Hamlet.”

Admission is $4 student/$7 general.
