Visiting Assistant Professor of Government Calin Trenkov-Wermuth ’00 took members of his United Nations and Global Security class on a field trip to United Nations headquarters in New York City on Nov. 28.


The students had the opportunity to tour the headquarters and see the Security Council as well as the General Assembly Hall during a meeting. They also met with three U.N. officials from the Department of Political Affairs in the Secretariat building:  Axel Wennmann, political affairs officer in the Middle East and West Asia Division of DPA (Yemen and Bahrain);  Amit Singhal, political affairs officer in the Africa II Division (covering piracy issues and Somalia);  and Obinna Okamgba, political affairs officer, who is working in the Palestinian Rights Division and previously worked in the Europe Division.
