Associate Professor of German and Russian Languages and Literatures (Russian) Emeritus Frank Sciacca recently gifted his collection of books related to Ukrainian arts and culture, specifically icons, to The Icon Museum and Study Center in Clinton, Mass.
An Icon Museum statement announcing the gift said, “This exciting collection of literature will allow us to expand our range of study in Ukrainian icons and artifacts.”
A longtime collector of Slavic art and artifacts, Sciacca was known for his collection, a small part of which was on display in his office on campus. His office once appeared on the cover of an issue of Hamilton magazine that featured an article on professors and their office decorating styles.
