The Lawrence and Kathleen Murphy Scholarship

The Lawrence and Kathleen Murphy Scholarship was established by Jennifer Murphy Hill, Class of 1987, in honor of her parents, Lawrence Eugene Murphy, Jr. and Kathleen Murphy.

This fund was initiated in 2011 by Jennifer Murphy Hill, Class of 1987. Ms. Hill’s father, Lawrence Eugene Murphy, Jr., was a Dartmouth College graduate who made his career in the field of computer science. Mr. Murphy believed that without education there is no hope for success; no sacrifice is too great in the pursuit of opportunity through learning.

Jennifer majored in government and was a member of Kappa Delta Omega. She went on to earn an M.B.A. from Columbia in 1994. She enjoyed a three-decade career in banking including positions as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Royal Bank of Scotland, at a London-based hedge fund, and with the European Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. She recently retired as CFO of the Global Banking and Markets Division for Bank of America – Merrill Lynch.
