Welcome Back Bash

If you were wondering where the powerful Afro-Latin beats were coming from on Friday, September 13th, look no further than the DMC’s front lawn. Here at the DMC we kicked off this semester on a high note with our Black and Latine Student Union’s Welcome Back Bash!
What better way to wrap up the week than by reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones over some wonderful empanadas from El Barajo. As Hamiltonians started arriving, we all grabbed some food and mingled in the sunshine. After everyone was settled in, our incredible BLSU E-board took to the microphone for some introductions and inspiring words for our Hamilton community. They highlighted the importance of community, collaboration, and collective activism as we strive to create the campus culture we hope to see. Afterwards, we cranked the music up and transformed the DMC’s front lawn into the ultimate dance floor. Students laughed, danced, reflected on the week, and enjoyed each other’s company.
A huge shout out to the dedicated BLSU E-board that planned and hosted this fantastic event. With their passion and commitment to collective activism and community, I’m so excited to see what BLSU has in store for us this semester!
For anyone interested in joining BLSU, you can find them in the basement of the Afro-Latin Cultural Center (ALCC) on Tuesdays at 6pm.
