BLSU Welcome Back Bash

September 18, 2025

As the sun shone down College Hill Road on a beautiful September 9th evening, BLSU Welcome Back Bash began on the front lawn of the DMC. For the second meeting of Disorientation week, BLSU welcomed new first year students to campus and reconnected with the Hamilton community. Music rang through the air as students lined up for food, chatting with each other and meeting new freshmen.
The E-Board called the meeting to order, received by a roar of cheering. After introducing themselves, they discussed upcoming events. Most immediately, BLSU looks forward to a meeting the week of the 22nd of September to learn about the Garifuna people of Honduras, with Honduran food. Additionally, the Hamilton community can anticipate BLSU collaborating with LV for the Latin Ball, along with many other clubs on campus for Homecoming - October 4th (5:00 pm - 8:00 pm) in Sadove. BLSU described Homecoming events as smiles spread across the faces of attendees, advertising the DXxHeat Dance Battle, acapella performances, merch drop, a rap battle, and a fashion show!
After enjoying delicious food from Happy Feet Caribbean Cuisine, students sprung from their seats to dance, and passerbys began to join in. With a celebrity appearance from President Steven Tepper on the dance floor, sporting his classic bow tie, and Miriam Merrill, Chief of Staff, the party, the semester had officially begun. Another fantastic event creating amazing connections to build upon throughout the year!
