Eligibility
The application process begins with an informational meeting (well advertised by e-mail, etc.) in early February each year. The application process is open to all sophomores and juniors (so that the program the next year is made up of juniors and seniors). It is useful to have some background in the operations of the American federal government, so Government 116 (American Political Process) or its equivalent is strongly advised, but the program has no fixed prerequisite and is open to students majoring in any concentration offered by the College.
There is no specific GPA requirement, though admission has generally been competitive. Admission is also open to qualified students from other colleges.
Students are notified as soon as possible after references are received from two members of the faculty. Those admitted are asked to certify in writing their intention to participate.
