Eliane H. Barker received her Ph.D. and master’s in economics from Queen’s University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Concordia University. She is an applied microeconomist with specific interests in industrial organization and labor economics. Using methodologies from these fields, she studies questions in healthcare and non-profit settings. Her current research focuses on the impact of government-directed hospital mergers on patients as well as gaining a better understanding of organizations and managers of the United States’ non-profit industry.
