Professor of English Onno Oerlemans was the top individual finisher, Lauren King ’16 was the top female individual, and team “Adirondack Adventure”  (Director of Outdoor Leadership Andrew Jillings, Will Robertson ’14 and Marcos Sotelo ’15), won the relay in the 10th annual HamTrek Triathlon on May 3.

HamTrek, one of Hamilton’s most popular campus events, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year on May 3. The annual triathlon and walk offers Hamilton community members the opportunity to compete individually or as part of a three-person team in swimming, on-road biking and cross-country running.

Hamilton’s annual Class & Charter Day celebration concluded the 2011-12 academic year on Friday, May 4, with a convocation in the Chapel. Students received prizes for academic achievement and teaching awards were given to faculty members.

Hamilton’s Class & Charter Day celebration, an annual convocation recognizing student and faculty excellence during the preceding academic year, will take place on Friday, May 4, at 12:15 p.m., in the Chapel. This year’s speaker is Julie Ross ’84, president of the Alumni Association. Her remarks are titled “Reflections on Inspiration, Transformation and Hamilton at its Bicentennial.”

Professor of English Onno Oerlemans was the top individual finisher, Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication  Cheryl Casey was the top female individual, and team "Favored to Win"  (employees David Swartz and Claudette Ferrone ’88 and Jelena Lacelle), won the relay in the eighth annual HamTrek Triathlon on May 6.  

Professor of Music Heather Buchman was the top female individual finisher, Stephen Wright ’13 was the top male individual, and Team m-b-h (Jared Mereness ’10, Andrew Brodsky ’11 and Lucas Harris ’12), won the relay in the seventh annual HamTrek Triathlon on May 7.

Molly Kane '09 was top female individual finisher, John-Paul Koenig of Clinton was the top male individual, and the Adirondack Adventure team won the relay in the sixth annual HamTrek Triathlon on May 8.

In an adventure that would make your average weekend warrior look rather feeble, this year's HamTrek competitors will once again be swimming 525 yards, biking nine miles and running 3.1 miles around the campus and in the village of Clinton. The event will begin in Hamilton College's Bristol Pool at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9.

HamTrek, the Hamilton College Community’s first spring sprint triathlon, will be held on Class and Charter Day, Friday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m. The event is a way for the college community to get together for some fun competition between students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and administration. HamTrek is sponsored by the President’s Office, Pepsi Co., the Athletic Department, Intramural Sports and Student Activities.
