Every fall, Hamilton’s Outing Club (HOC) sends groups of students to the Adirondack Mountains where they attempt to summit each of the 46 high peaks in one weekend. This year, there were 25 trips and five overnight backpacking trips. Student participants included 40 HOC leaders, 20 shadow leaders (as part of HOC leader training), and 51 hikers for a grand total of 111. This year, Hamilton students summited 39 of the 46 peaks.

From Women in Finance and Aquaponics, to Board Games and Badminton, more than 150 clubs and organizations were represented at the annual Club Fair on Sept. 2 on Dunham Green. Watch the video to see who was there!

Imaginatively costumed Orientation Leaders shouting boisterous cheers, honking car horns, and very creative signs welcomed members of Hamilton’s newest students to the Hill on Aug. 16.

The existential themes of love, death, and time were explored in the AI-scripted and human-performed musical production Channelers, an interdisciplinary art project funded by the Dietrich Inchworm Grant and headed by Assistant Professor of Digital Arts Anna Huff.

Neuroscience, Dance, Mathematics, Music. Recent graduates Toscana Ogihara ’22 and Anthony Christiana ’22 took this unlikely combination of majors and collaborated on creating an original score for Ogihara’s dance thesis.

Students in a summer archaeological methods field course and summer science researchers agree that being out in the field digging for artifacts is far preferable to sitting in a classroom.

Throughout June, members of the Hamilton community came together and celebrated Pride Month thanks to several campus events hosted by student and staff organizers.

Hamilton seniors are wrapping up their college careers with thesis projects in their majors. Thoughtful analysis of topics, and creativity are apparent in the last academic work they’ll do at Hamilton.

Assistant Professor of Biology Peter Guiden is working with Maddie Vavra ’23 and Becky Rosen ’22 to better understand the biology of trees that are native to Central New York. The trees grown in the science center greenhouse will eventually be planted on campus as part of the effort to conserve and restore biodiversity there.
