The day after her finals ended, Kim Lifton ’20 did what any college student would want to do and boarded a plane to Europe. She visited places like London, England, and Angers, France, observing the remnants of medieval Western history. Unlike the typical college student, however, Lifton spent the majority of her time examining medieval manuscripts in renowned archives and traversing the region in search of depictions of Edward the Black Prince.

Paul Hart ’20 is one of 200 Hamilton students conducting research or completing an internship supported by the College this summer. He's working with Associate Professor of Chemistry Max Majireck to synthesize a compound called BRD9876. BRD is essentially a selective motor protein inhibitor, and that means it targets multiple myeloma cells as a form of blood cancer.

Instructional consultant Kimberly Van Orman presented the keynote presentation “Working with Diverse Student Perspectives: When Discussions Get Difficult” on July 8. Her discussion focused on what instructors might do when a controversial class conversation becomes emotionally charged and unproductive.

WHCL is a 24-hour, non-profit, student-run, free-form radio station. Established in 1941 and located on the Hamilton campus, WHCL provides the Hamilton community with the opportunity to get their voices and music heard. WHCL typically features over 90 shows during the school year and occasionally broadcasts in the summer.
