Compared to the hectic offices of Wall Street, the small city of Durango, tucked away in the southwestern corner of Colorado, might sound like the perfect place for a quiet retirement. But Mike Bruce ’69 has found plenty to keep himself busy after moving from New York almost three decades ago.

Jinquan Liang ’08 and Yvonne Chen ’20 both attended John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., and were mentored by the same social studies teacher, CT Chan, who provided the two first-generation prospective college students advice on the college search process, including SAT prep, college application essays, and financial aid applications.

For Madeline Pittel ’24, interning at Sotheby’s has been a longstanding dream.
