A collection of intaglio prints by Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo, along with Amy Buchholz ’80 and Jake Muirhead ’86 – the Atelier Four – will be on display April 4-29 at The Ink Shop Printmaking Center in Ithaca, N.Y.

Aaron Astor ’95, an associate professor of history at Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn., shared his knowledge of the Civil War in Tennessee with a group of Hamilton students volunteering at the Cumberland Trail for their Alternative Spring Break trip on March 24.

Tracy L. Adler, director of the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art, welcomed New York City alumni for a talk with artist Casey Ruble on March 7 at Volta NY. Ruble’s work was included in the museum’s fall exhibition A Sense of Place, which was curated by Adler.

“This room holds many ghosts,” Tony Award-winning playwright Richard Nelson ’72 said as he began his talk in the Chapel on Tuesday, March 11. “Ghosts in every corner.” Nelson delivered the Tolles lecture titled “The Peculiarity of Theater.”

Doug Lemov ’90 returned to the Hill on March 6 to initiate a policy conversation on public education reform.  While encouraging dialogue and discussion throughout his lecture, Lemov expressed his own ideas of how the current educational system can progress in the midst of poverty. In his presentation, titled “Which Reforms Will Save American Education – and Which Will Kill It?” Lemov addressed the different ways in which the nation must improve “the most important sector in a functioning democracy.”

Thomas Tull ’92, founder and CEO of Legendary Entertainment and a member of Hamilton’s Board of Trustees, was part of a group of foundation and business leaders invited by President Barack Obama to discuss his “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative at the White House on Feb. 27.

Gilbert Strang, the inaugural Robert S. Morris Class of 1976 Visiting Fellow at Hamilton, and the MathWorks Professor of Mathematics at MIT, will be on campus for two events on Thursday and Friday, March 6 and 7.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Government Calin Trenkov-Wermuth ’00 participated in a roundtable discussion on challenges for European foreign and security policy at London’s Centre for European Reform (CER).

Wednesday, February 26, was no ordinary day.  Hamilton celebrated — Starting Today Others Pay — the day when the cost of operating the College for the remainder of the academic year is paid not by tuition and fees, but by income from gifts provided by alumni, parents and friends.

Associate Professor of Psychology Jen Borton presented a poster on Feb. 14 at the 15th Annual Meeting of The Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) in Austin, Texas.
