  • Director of Opportunity Programs and Interim Director of Diversity and Inclusion Phyllis Breland ’80 presented a webinar titled “Routine for Learning” on July 15. The presentation was part of the NYGEAR UP summer webinar series presented by The Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) in New York.

  • Margaret W. and Joseph L. Fisher Art Gallery will be exhibiting four large format drawing installations and eight portrait studies by Raye Leith (Osserman) K’78. The gallery is located in Alexandria, Virginia, at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center.  

  • Tatenda Chakoma ’18 is exploring a possible future in neuroscience as he interns at UCLA Medical School, Department of Neurology this summer. This internship is a summer program run by Hamilton alumnus Dr. Bruce Dobkin ’69. Each year he selects one Hamilton neuroscience student to do biomedical training and research at UCLA Neurology. Chakoma’s internship is supported by the Sandra Solomon Internship Fund, managed by the Career Center.

  • The Centerstage Theatre play in Seattle, For All That, received a nomination for a Gregory Award for outstanding new play. The play was written by Alan Bryce ’71.

  • Rumors suggest that presumed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s short list of vice presidential candidates includes Hamilton alumnus and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack ’72. Although Virginia Senator Tim Kaine tops the list, many outlets point to Vilsack as “the person on the list she can most trust” and “the safest pick of all.”

  • John H. McKoy ’66 published a new fictional book, “Son of Maya.” His book, which is published by AuthorHouse, is available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon and AuthorHouse.

  • David Kolb ’02 and Katrina Schell ’03 will appear in the the Rome Capitol Theatre production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel.  The show will run from July 14-16, at 7:30 p.m. Kolb will play the role of Mr. Snow and Schell is cast as Carrie Pipperidge. Music professor Rob Kolb is music director for the local production.

  • Recent graduate Nelly Alba '16 is continuing her passion for education by joining Teach for America.

  • Peter Kazickas ’15 created the Twist App, a new social app that is so far exclusively available in the Hamptons. It is a dating app that gives people the opportunity to match up with other people who will be attending the same event as them, in hopes to increase the chances for matches to meet up.

  • Michael Diana ’15 is a photographer whose work will be displayed at his exhibition "In Whom We Trust: At the Crossroads of Faith and Community." The exhibit will be opening on July 7, 2016 in Rotterdam Junction, New York at the Mabee Farm Historic Site.
