Dean of Faculty Patrick Reynolds announced the promotion of five Hamilton faculty members to the rank of professor.  Todd Franklin, philosophy; Marianne Janack, philosophy; Katherine Kuharic, art; Bruce Walczyk, dance and movement studies; and Steven Yao, English and creative writing, were promoted effective July 1.

An interview with Katharine Kuharic, the Kevin Kennedy Associate Professor of Art, appears in the May/June issue of Artillery magazine. Written by Hamilton Visiting Assistant Professor of Art Christopher Russell, the piece appears under the publication’s “Studio Visit” column. Kuharic’s work is currently included in a group show titled Cinematic Bodies at the Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago.

The exhibition “Private (dis) play” featuring the sketchbooks of contemporary artists Julie Hefferman, Vincent Desidirio, Kurt Kauper, Mira Schor, Tom Knechtel, Catherine Hower and Hamilton professors Ella Gant and Katharine Kuharic opens at the New York Academy of Art on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in New York City.

Eight Hamilton College faculty members were approved for tenure by the College's Board of Trustees during their recent meeting. The Board granted tenure to Heather Buchman (music), Jennifer Irons (sociology), Masaaki Kamiya (East Asian languages and literatures), Katherine Kuharic (art), Mike McCormick (biology), Tara McKee (psychology), Kyoko Omori (East Asian languages and literatures) and Sharon Werning Rivera (government).
