Gerard Pozzi ’18 has been awarded a Coccia Foundation Scholarship for study abroad in Italy. Established in 1994, the Coccia Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Italian culture, with a particular emphasis on promoting the rich Italian cultural heritage among younger generations at the college level.

John Liebman ’18 was selected as a delegate to the China Leadership Summit, a student-run conference co-hosted by Duke and North Carolina Universities.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics Jesse Weiner hosted a conference titled “The Modern Prometheus; or, Frankenstein” on April 8-9. The interdisciplinary symposium explored the ways in which the literature, mythology and philosophy of Greek and Roman antiquity inform Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and its later traditions.

The Hamilton Mathletics team won first place in the annual Snow Bowl competition, edging out teams from Colgate University, Skidmore College and St. Lawrence University. Each team’s top five scores on the William Lowell Putnam Exam, given in December, were added together to determine the winner.

Five Hamilton students presented talks at the Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference (HRUMC) held April 2 at Saint Michael’s College in Burlington, Vt. They were accompanied by Richard Bedient, the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Mathematics.
