Sam Welch ’86 has been appointed director of Hamilton’s Career and Life Outcomes Center. A native of Upstate New York, Welch graduated from Hamilton with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in economics. Over 25 years he built a career in marketing, communications and advertising, acquiring extensive strategic and personnel leadership experience, and establishing a track record of building teams and understanding the needs of diverse stakeholders.

Courtney Smith ’86, P’16 has created several internship opportunities for Hamilton students this summer through the Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation in Lewisburg, W.V. As the executive director of the foundation, Smith contacted local nonprofits to see if any of the organizations would be interested in taking on summer interns. Several offered to host interns and Meredith Garner ’15, Liz DaBramo ’15, and Medjine Lucien ’16— were selected.

A collection of intaglio prints by Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo, along with Amy Buchholz ’80 and Jake Muirhead ’86 – the Atelier Four – will be on display April 4-29 at The Ink Shop Printmaking Center in Ithaca, N.Y.

Five Hamilton artists are represented in a new catalog of works from the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) 2012 member show. The artists included are Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo, as well as Amy Buchholz ’81, Jake Muirhead ’86 and Michael Hew Wing ’99, who also designed the catalog.
