“PANORAMA: Three Ecocinematic Territories,” an essay by Visiting Professor of Art History Scott MacDonald, appears as a chapter in the Handbook of Ecocriticism and Cultural Ecology. Edited by Hubert Zapf, the book was recently published by De Gruyter, a German publishing house.

The F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series concludes on Sunday, April 24, at 2 p.m., when series director Scott MacDonald presents “Music and Cinema.” The event takes place in the Bradford Auditorium, KJ, and is free and open to the public.

Filmmaker Erin Espelie will visit Hamilton to present The Lanthanide Series (2014), on Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m., in the Bradford Auditorium, KJ. The film is part of the spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series and is free and open to the public.

The spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series will present Tongues Untied (1989) on Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium, KJ. All F.I.L.M. events are free and open to the public. 

The spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series continues on Sunday, Feb. 28, with the screening of Losing Ground (1982), directed by Kathleen Collins and starring Seret Scott, Bill Gunn and Duane Jones.

The spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series will present Charles Burnett’s Killer of Sheep (1977) on Sunday, Feb. 21. All F.I.L.M. series events are on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium in the Kirner-Johnson Building and are free and open to the public.

The F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series presents William Greaves’ Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One (1972) on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium, Kirner-Johnson Building. All F.I.L.M. events are free and open to the public.

The spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series continues on Sunday, Feb. 7, with Portrait of Jason (1967), directed by Shirley Clarke and starring Jason Holliday (née Aaron Payne).

The F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series opens Sunday, Jan. 31, with Nothing But a Man (1964), directed by Michael Roemer. The theme of the spring series is “In Focus: African-Americans in Film: Rarely Screened Landmarks.”

The fall 2015 F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series concludes on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m., when filmmaker Bill Morrison presents The Great Flood (2013). The screening takes place in the Kirner-Johnson Building’s Bradford Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
