Hamilton College Performing Arts continues the fall series with the early music group Pallade Musica on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.

Cellist Matt Haimovitz brought a unique concert-going experience  to Hamilton  and Clinton on Nov. 6 – a moveable feast of Bach’s Suites for Unaccompanied Cello. He performed at the Taylor Science Atrium, the Howard Diner and the Kirkland Town Library  and then presented a full concert in Wellin Hall on Saturday evening.

The Hamilton College Theatre Department announces the Fall Theater production, Beauty and the Beast. Performances will continue Friday, Nov. 6 – Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 11 – Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. There is a matinee performance on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. All performances will take place in the new state-of-the-art Romano Theatre within the Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts.

Hamilton College Performing Arts continues the fall series presenting cellist Matt Haimovitz. Haimovitz comes to Hamilton with a unique concert-going experience – a moveable feast of Bach’s Suites for Unaccompanied Cello. One suite, accompanied by overtures recently commissioned by Haimovitz, will be performed on Friday, Nov. 6, at three separate locations around campus and in the village of Clinton, with the balance of the suites and overtures in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Monk Rowe, the Joe Williams Director of the Milt and Nelma Fillius Jazz Archive, presented “The Fillius Jazz Archive at Hamilton College: Preserving Words and Images” on Oct. 16 at the fall meeting of the New York State/Ontario Chapter of the Music Library Association (NYS/O MLA).

Hamilton College Performing Arts continues the fall series with the Hugo Wolf Quartet and mezzo-soprano Olivia Vote on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.

Jazz Tales from Jazz Legends – a distillation of more than 325 interviews recorded over two decades with jazz greats, their band members and critics– has just been released by Couper Press. Written by Director of the Fillius Jazz Archive Monk Rowe, the book includes interviews with Dave Brubeck, Steve Allen, Marian McPartland, Joe Williams, Bela Fleck, among many others, as well as with former members of bands led by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Stan Kenton. 

The Hamilton College Departments of Music and Dance and Movement Studies will offer a full schedule of free performances in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center during the College’s Family Weekend, Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24.

Hamilton College Performing Arts presents the Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m., in  Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
