The spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series will present Charles Burnett’s Killer of Sheep (1977) on Sunday, Feb. 21. All F.I.L.M. series events are on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium in the Kirner-Johnson Building and are free and open to the public.

The Hamilton College Arboretum Third Saturday series continues on Saturday, Feb. 20, with a lecture by Carol Bradford, horticulturist and gardening columnist for The Syracuse Post Standard. She will present “Springtime in Japan” at 10 a.m., in the Kennedy Auditorium, Taylor Science Center. All Arboretum events are free and open to the public.

Greg Thomas ’85,  principal at G&J Productions, will present a lecture titled “Albert Murray and the Blues Idiom Worldview” on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 4:15 p.m., in the Red Pit, KJ. The lecture is sponsored by the Fillius Jazz Archive and is free and open to the public.

Hamilton will host the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, a collection of short films documenting unexpected outdoor adventures and ground-breaking expeditions, on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m., in Bradford Auditorium, Kirner-Johnson Building.

The F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series presents William Greaves’ Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One (1972) on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium, Kirner-Johnson Building. All F.I.L.M. events are free and open to the public.

The spring F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series continues on Sunday, Feb. 7, with Portrait of Jason (1967), directed by Shirley Clarke and starring Jason Holliday (née Aaron Payne).

Dr. M.K. Dorsey, interim director for the Energy and Environment Program at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, will present a lecture titled “Pathways Beyond Paris: Towards Energy & Climate Justice” on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m., in the Red Pit.

Pragda, a distributor of films from Spain and Latin America, has awarded Hamilton a grant for the organization of a Spanish Film Club festival. Five films will be featured in the festival that starts on Tuesday, Feb. 2, with Bad Hair (Venezuela, 2014).

The F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series opens Sunday, Jan. 31, with Nothing But a Man (1964), directed by Michael Roemer. The theme of the spring series is “In Focus: African-Americans in Film: Rarely Screened Landmarks.”

The Hamilton College Arboretum Third Saturday series continues on Saturday, Jan. 16, with Steve Blair, International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist and representative of Bartlett Tree Experts. He will present a lecture titled “From the Cradle to the Grave, Tree and Shrub Care for the CNY Homeowner” at 10 a.m. in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium.
