Hamilton played host to a conversation of critical importance on the nature of higher education as it relates to concepts of growing multiculturalism, inclusivity and difference, titled “Considering Global Education in an Interconnected World.” Hamilton president David Wippman was among the speakers.

The Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) 15th annual Make a Difference Day took place at 20 different sites in the area.

Kenan Professor of Biology emeritus and lecturer in biology, was recently published in the Journal of the Lepidopterists’ Society.

Students participating in the Fall 2016 New York City (NYC) Program visited the Lower East Side Tenement Museum in Manhattan on Sept. 7.

The Hamilton College Department of Music presents the Jazz Kick Off Concert on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center. “Doc” Woods and The Salt City Jazz Collective start the year off with an evening of jazz and a suite of new charts by Woods.

Science students returned this fall to find a significant addition to the analytical capabilities of the Chemistry Department: a PerkinElmer AAnalyst 600 Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometer. The instrument, donated by ICON, plc, enables users to detect and quantify trace elements in water, soil and sediments, and other matrices.

Participants in the Hamilton College Academic Year in Spain (HCAYS) recently visited the Spanish region of Galicia as part of their orientation trip. Twenty-six students from Hamilton, Colby, Grinnell, Scripps, Swarthmore, Davidson, Bates, Bryn Mawr and Williams are participating in HCAYS.
