This year the national media highlighted the college’s focus on expanding access and equalizing experiences on campus in several major articles. Outlets featuring these Hamilton policies and programs included The Chronicle of Higher Education, Huffington Post and the Hechinger Report. The college also received broad national media attention most recently with the announcement of its incoming president, David Wippman, via an Associated Press news story.

The spring semester of Hamilton’s Performing Arts series will feature an exciting season of music and dance in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

After three years of programming featuring 13 exhibitions, 8 publications, 70 public programs and well over 30,000 visitors, the Wellin Museum of Art can add a new milestone to its roster of accomplishments. The museum will be working with distinguished publisher DelMonico Books/Prestel, a subsidiary of Random House, to co-publish and distribute the museum's forthcoming publications.

Neil deGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist and director of the Hayden Planetarium, will appear as the next guest and the first scientist in the Hamilton College Sacerdote Great Names Series on Tuesday, April 12, at 7 p.m., in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. He will give an interactive presentation which will followed by a question and answer period. The event will be free and open to the public.

The Hamilton Geosciences Rock Collection was recently made available through Shared Shelf Commons, a free, open-access image library. The online collection currently features images of 653 rock samples, along with information about each rock.

Here’s a look back at the stories that garnered the greatest attention on Hamilton’s news site each month this year, based on the number of views.

Although winter break is underway, Hamilton’s Mock Trial team is not slowing down. Team members will individually be rewriting the bulk of their scripts, memorizing and studying case law and rules of evidence during break. In addition, team members will return from break one week early to practice as a team and prepare for a tournament at the Ohio Northern University before the spring semester starts (Jan 15-18). All of this preparation leads up to the Regional Tournament (Feb 5-7) at Pennsylvania State College.
